What we service
Flat rate for common services; custom or large-scale work is quoted after bench diagnosis. You approve before anything starts.
Tube amp service
$150–$350Tube testing and matching, bias and DC-offset calibration, internal cleanup and inspection, fresh output/driver tubes if needed.
Turntable service
$125–$250Cartridge alignment and install, bearing and platter service, speed and pitch calibration, tonearm setup.
Full recap
$200–$500All electrolytic and coupling caps replaced with quality parts, Nichicon, Mundorf. Before/after measurements so you hear the difference. Other gear gets the same treatment: the recap service covers any board, any era, and the recap cost guide explains what drives the number.
Crossover rebuild
$150–$300 per pairFresh film caps and air-core inductors, individual driver measurements, restored original voicing.
DAC / streamer repair
$100–$250Power supply diagnostics, output stage and DAC IC repair, USB and network interface fixes.
Headphone mods
$50–$150Detachable cable conversion, balanced re-cable, earpad upgrades, driver tuning.
Vintage modernization
$100–$300Warm-white LED lamp conversion, Bluetooth input modules, safety cap and fuse upgrades. Keep the look, add modern convenience.

The gear that walks in
The units we see most often, and what their usual repairs run. Every number is a typical repair, not a promise: the exact quote comes from the bench after the $49 diagnosis, and the diagnosis is free when you approve the repair.
Classic receivers & integrateds
$100–$175Pioneer, Marantz, Sansui, Harman Kardon, NAD, Onkyo, Technics. Dirty controls and cracked solder joints usually run $100; protection-circuit and component-level repairs from $175. Recaps quoted from $200.
CD players & changers
$99Yamaha, Technics, Denon, Sony, and Oppo players: tray, belt, and lens service. A dead laser pickup is the bigger job, typically around $179 all in with the part and alignment.
Cassette decks
$150–$300Tascam, Yamaha, Nakamichi, and Denon: belts, idlers, pinch rollers, and adjustment. A full transport service with calibration sits at the top of the range.
Turntables
$125–$250Technics SL-1200-class direct drives and belt decks: bearing, speed, tonearm, and cartridge setup. A belt or stylus job on its own is a small counter quote.
Speakers & crossovers
$50+Single-control jobs like an L-pad from $50; crossover rebuilds $150 to $300 per pair; refoams quoted per driver once the surrounds are matched.
Car amplifiers
$139+Drew and Mosconi-class amps: protection faults, output stages, and cracked solder. Bench-tested under load before it goes home.

The audiophile bench is different: these aren't disposable devices. They're worth fixing, and they deserve the honesty that comes with that.
Almost always worth repairing
A $500 amp with a $150 repair is a no-brainer. Vintage gear especially, the replacement costs five times what the repair does, if it exists at all.

How mail-in works
- 01Fill out the RMA form, it takes two minutes and you get a number instantly.
- 02Pack the unit well (double-box it; the original box inside a shipping box is ideal). The ship-to address comes with your RMA email.
- 03We diagnose within 3–5 business days of arrival and email the quote.
- 04You approve, we fix, we ship it back, return shipping billed at our FedEx rate, no markup (see shipping).
