Power tool battery rebuilds. Quoted after cell inspection.

A dead pack is usually a few dead cells, not a dead tool. We open the pack, load-test the cells, and quote the rebuild before any work starts. There is no price list on purpose: every pack is different until it is open.

✓ One flat quote, approved before work starts ✓ Quality cells, load-tested before it leaves ✓ Fix-or-replace verdict included ✓ 90-day labor warranty

How pack rebuilds work

Quoted after cell inspection. The number comes from the cells, not from a menu.

Pack rebuilds

Quoted after cell inspection

Built with quality cells, joined properly, and load-tested under real draw before it leaves. One flat quote covers the whole rebuild, approved before anything starts.

Charger check & repair

Quoted after diagnosis

A pack that will not charge is sometimes a dead charger or dirty contacts. We test charger and pack together so you never replace the wrong one.

Fix-or-replace verdict

Part of the inspection

The rebuild quote comes with an honest comparison against buying new. When replacement is the better answer, we say so, and the inspection costs you nothing more for hearing it.

What we usually find inside

Packs fail in patterns. These are the three that walk in most.

A few dead cells in a healthy string

The classic failure: most of the pack is fine and a handful of cells gave up. Replacing those cells brings the whole pack back for a fraction of a new one.

A tired protection board

The pack reads full but the tool cuts out under load, or it will not charge at all. The cell string is fine; the electronics guarding it are the fault.

The charger, not the pack

Dead chargers masquerade as dead packs every week. We test both together first, because replacing a good pack to cure a bad charger is the most expensive way to fix nothing.

Drop it off or mail it in

Either way, the inspection and the quote come before the work.

How a rebuild goes

  1. 01Drop off. 2224 Sunrise Dr, Longmont · Mon–Fri 9–6, Sat–Sun 10–3. Or mail it in anywhere in the U.S.: request an RMA number online first.
  2. 02Pack it safely. Tape the terminals and bag the pack separately from anything metal. Couriers reject loose lithium, so padding on all sides and nothing loose in the box.
  3. 03Inspection and quote. Cells load-tested, findings in plain language, one flat quote. You approve before any work starts.
  4. 04Rebuild and load-test. Quality cells, proper joinery, tested under real draw before it goes home. Charger works? Included in the check.

What we don't do

Scope stated plainly, so you know before you ship anything.

Honest limits

  • No e-bike or e-scooter pack rebuilds. That lane has its own rule: packs with dead cells there are referred out until a bench process exists. Details on the e-bike & e-scooter page.
  • Swollen or heat-damaged packs usually get a "no". Cells in that state are not safe to rebuild around, so the honest verdict is replacement. You hear it as part of the inspection.
  • No mystery-cell rebuilds. A pack rebuilt with used or unknown cells is a fire risk with a warranty sticker on it. We don't do it.

Pack rebuild questions

The things people ask before they tape the terminals.

Straight answers

How much does a rebuild cost?

Quoted after cell inspection. Cell count, cell type, and how much of the pack is worth keeping all change the number. You get one flat quote after the cells are tested, and you approve it before any work starts.

Why is there no price list?

Because a price list would be a guess. Three dead cells in a healthy string is a different job from a failed protection board, and quoting them the same would overcharge someone. The honest number comes after the test.

Which brands and pack types do you take?

The common slide-style packs from the major platforms are the usual suspects. Odd formats get tested anyway and you are told straight if a rebuild is not possible. E-bike and e-scooter packs are a separate lane with their own honest line.

My pack is swollen. Can it be rebuilt?

Usually not, and we will say so. Swollen or heat-damaged cells are not safe to rebuild around, so the honest verdict is replacement. That call is part of the inspection.

Is the pack even the problem, or is it the charger?

We check both together. A dead charger or dirty contacts mimics a dead pack all the time, and the test costs less than the wrong replacement.

How long does a rebuild take?

Most rebuilds turn around in a few days once the quote is approved. If cells have to be ordered, the quote says so with the shipping time included.

Can I mail in a battery pack?

Yes. RMA number first, terminals taped, pack bagged away from metal, padded on all sides. Couriers reject loose lithium, so the packing matters. We diagnose within 24 hours of arrival.

Is there a warranty on a rebuilt pack?

Rebuild labor carries a 90-day warranty; cells carry their manufacturer's warranty. The quote states which is which. If a rebuilt pack fails inside the window, bring it back and we make it right.
