The three failures that come in most
Amps fail in patterns. These are the three we see weekly.
A hum that wasn't there last month
Filter capacitors dry out and the hum grows with them. It is the most common tube-amp fault there is, and one of the most fixable. Caps get replaced when they measure bad, and the bias gets set right after.
Cutting out when you touch the jack
Cutting in and out when the cable moves is almost never the cable. Input jack tension and the solder joints behind it are the usual culprits, and both are bench fixes, not mysteries.
A pedal that switched itself out of the chain
Footswitches and bypass relays wear with every stomp. True-bypass gets restored, the switching gets load-tested, and the pedal goes back to doing its one job quietly.

- 02Ship the amp. Anywhere in the U.S.: get an RMA number online, pack it well, and we diagnose within 24 hours of arrival and email a flat quote. Amps ship constantly — heads travel fine.
- 03Start online. The repair wizard gives a first-pass assessment any hour, and the AI receptionist answers the phone around the clock. A human follows up.
What we don't do
Scope stated plainly, so you know before you book.
Electronics, not cosmetics
- No cabinet or cosmetic work. Tolex, grille cloth, refinishing, and hardware swaps for looks are a cabinet restorer's craft. We fix what is inside the box.
- No transformer rewinds. A shorted output transformer gets an honest quote: a replacement where one fits, or a referral to a specialist winding service. Rewinding is its own trade.
- No repair-avoiding part swaps. If a re-tensioned jack or a cleaned pot fixes it, we don't quote a new board.

Yes. Bias is checked and set to the amp's spec on every output tube job, and tubes are tested under load before anything is quoted, so a good tube never gets sold to cure a bad cap.
