Apple Silicon Board Repair

No schematic access for M-series Macs and newer iPads. We can handle battery, screen, and some port repairs, but not board-level work on these devices.

Late-Stage Liquid Damage

If corrosion has been spreading for more than 48 hours, the damage is often too deep for component-level repair. Bring it in ASAP for the best chance.

Appliances & Vehicles

Washers, dryers, refrigerators, ovens — refer to an appliance repair tech. Vehicle electrical work goes to an automotive electrician.

Commercial PLCs & Industrial

We don’t service factory automation, industrial control systems, or commercial HVAC controls. These need specialized technicians.

Physically Destroyed Storage

Shattered platters, fire damage, crushed drives — some damage is beyond recovery. We’ll tell you honestly if it’s worth attempting.

Firmware-Locked Repairs

Some manufacturer components (certain Apple/Google parts) require proprietary calibration tools we don’t have. We’ll tell you what’s possible.

How much does a repair cost?

Every repair is different, so we diagnose first: tell us what is happening, we take a look, and you get a straight estimate before any work starts. If it is not worth fixing, we tell you that too.

The everyday jobs have a set, flat price on the Pricing tab: diagnose $49 (credited toward any repair you approve), tune-up $99, virus removal $79, data rescue $149, plus flat-rate upgrades and new-computer setup. No hourly meter, and parts are quoted up front.

How long will my repair take?

It depends on the job. Simple repairs are often same-day or next-day; board-level and audiophile work can take a week or two, especially when parts are involved. We give you a timeline with the estimate and keep you posted as it moves along.

Can I track my repair?

Yes. Every repair gets a ticket number you can check any time at repair.tomasetti.shop/status. Prefer a person? Call or text us and we will tell you exactly where it stands.

Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are preferred so we have the bench ready for you, but walk-ins are welcome during shop hours when we are free (Mon-Fri 9-6, Sat-Sun 10-3). Call or text ahead and we will have the bench ready — and we can also open earlier or stay later by appointment.

What do you fix?

Audiophile gear, TVs and displays, laptops and desktops, phones and tablets, automotive and marine electronics, power tools, and most anything with a circuit board. If it is repairable, we will find the failing part and fix it, not swap the whole board.

Is my data safe while you work on my device?

Your privacy is part of the job. We do not read your files, and any device with personal data is handled on a bench away from the queue. Back your data up before you bring it in when you can, but it stays yours.

Is it worth fixing?

The honest answer depends on three things. Here is how we think about it.

The repair-vs-replace rule

If the repair costs less than half of what a comparable replacement costs, fix it. If it is more than half, tell us and we will help you decide — sometimes the data, the setup, or the sentiment makes it worth it anyway.

Computers & phones

Under $200? Almost always worth it. $200–$400? Depends on device age and what you need. Over $400? We will tell you straight — buy new if it makes more sense.

Audiophile gear

Almost always worth fixing. A $500 amp with a $150 repair is a no-brainer. Vintage gear especially — the replacement costs 5x what the repair does.

Under warranty?

Check with the manufacturer first. If they will not cover it (or the wait is too long), we can usually fix it faster and cheaper. We never void your warranty — we document everything.
