Terms of Service
Effective August 22, 2026 · Tomasetti Repair, operated by Tomasetti Tech LLC, 2224 Sunrise Dr, Longmont, CO 80501
These terms cover every repair we do. They're written in plain language because you should know what you're agreeing to before we touch your gear. If anything here is unclear, email repair@tomasetti.shop and we'll explain.
Before you drop off — what you're agreeing to
- $49 diagnostic, credited to your repair — you approve the written estimate before any work starts. If we can't find anything wrong, there's no charge.
- Back up your data first — data loss can happen during repair, especially on already-failing drives. We take every precaution, but we're not responsible for data you didn't back up.
- 50% deposit on parts over $500 — toward parts before we order; fully credited to your final bill.
- Pick up within 30 days — after we notify you the repair's done, you have 30 days before the device is recycled or disposed of.
- Tell us about pre-existing damage — undisclosed damage we find mid-repair may make it impractical; we'll tell you before proceeding.
Dropping off your device means you've read and agree to the full terms below.
1. Diagnosis and estimates
- $49 diagnostic fee — we find out what's actually wrong and tell you straight. If you approve the repair, the $49 is credited toward it. If we can't find anything wrong, there's no charge.
- You approve before we start — after diagnosis, you get a written estimate. No work begins until you say yes. No hourly meter, no hidden fees.
- If it's not worth fixing, we tell you — component-level repair means the honest answer is sometimes "replace it." We'll tell you when, and the diagnosis is on us if we can't find anything wrong.
2. Payment
- Due at pickup — unless we agree otherwise in writing. We accept cash, card, and mobile payment.
- Parts are quoted up front — the estimate includes parts cost. If a part's price changes or is unavailable, we tell you before ordering.
- Deposits on large jobs — for repairs over $500, we may ask for a 50% deposit toward parts before ordering. The deposit is fully credited to your final bill.
3. Turnaround time
- We give you a timeline with the estimate — simple jobs are often same-day or next-day. Board-level and audiophile work can take a week or two, especially when parts are involved.
- We keep you posted — if anything changes the timeline, you hear from us before it becomes a surprise.
- Rush service — ask if you need it faster. If we can, we will. Rush fees are quoted case-by-case.
4. Warranty on repairs
- 90 days on parts and labor — if the same problem comes back within 90 days of pickup, we fix it at no charge.
- What's not covered: new problems unrelated to the original repair, damage from misuse or accident after pickup, repairs you attempted yourself after our work, normal wear and tear on parts we didn't replace.
- Parts warranty follows the manufacturer — some parts carry their own warranty from the supplier. We pass that through to you and help with any claims.
5. Your data
- Back up your data before you bring it in. We take every reasonable precaution, but data loss can happen during repair — especially on drives that are already failing.
- We don't read your files. Your privacy is part of the job. Any device with personal data is handled on a bench away from the queue.
- Our full data practices are in the Privacy Policy.
6. Abandoned devices
- 30-day hold — once your repair is complete and we've notified you, you have 30 days to pick it up. We'll try to reach you by phone, text, and email.
- After 30 days — the device may be recycled or disposed of. We don't sell abandoned customer devices.
- Storage fees — none. We just want you to get your gear back.
7. What we don't cover
- Pre-existing conditions we weren't told about — if we open a device and find unrelated damage that makes repair impossible or impractical, we'll tell you before proceeding.
- Customer-caused damage after repair — if you drop it on the way home, that's a new ticket.
- Third-party repairs attempted after ours — if someone else opens it after we do, our warranty ends.
- Acts of God — floods, fires, lightning strikes, power surges that happen after pickup.
8. Right to refuse service
We reserve the right to decline any repair. Common reasons: the device is beyond economical repair and we can't in good conscience charge you for it; the repair requires proprietary tools or software we don't have access to; or the device has been reported stolen.
9. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update this page and revise the date. The terms in effect when you drop off your device are the ones that apply to that repair.
